| We are very pleased to introduce Luna Azul, a Friesian Warmblood colt out of Alikat by Ljibbe's Valour. Luna Azul meaning Blue Moon was born on June 1, 2007 during a Blue moon a special full moon. Very appropriate for Bella Luna Ranch which means Beautiful Moon Ranch. It is also interesting to note that this year we had two foals born, both under full moons. Azul is expected to mature at 17 hands and will make an outstanding Dressage horse, Eventer or Jumper. He is already exhibiting tremendous athletic abilities and a curious and eager attitude. Azul's dam, Alikat is an American Warmblood mare standing 16.2 hands. Alikat was a successful Dressage horse as well as a fabulous Hunter & Jumper. Ljibbe's Valour is an FPZV, FBHR, and AWS approved Friesian Stallion by Rietse, and an all around athlete. Valour regularly performs around the country in Dressage demonstrations, jousting demonstrations and carriage driving exhibitions. Valour stands over 17 hands tall and has a calm and quiet demeanor. Azul was presented to the Friesian Blood Horse Registry this fall and is the highest scoring FBHR horse in history. His scores of 9 for walk, 9 for trot, and 9 for canter highlighted his 8.6 earning him Gold status as well as a number of Titles. FBHR Site Champion, FBHR National Overall Champion, and FBHR National Weanling Champion. Azul was also inspected by the American Warmblood Society where he earned Blue Preferred status and placed fourth.
